Changes in Taaleri’s management – Marjatta Rytömaa to head Taaleri’s bioindustry business, Tero Saarno to step down from the Executive Management Team
Taaleri has today appointed Marjatta Rytömaa (born 1967) as Managing Director, Taaleri Bioindustry and member of the Executive Management Team as of 19 May 2025.
Rytömaa has a background in private equity and possesses a broad range of biotech and business management skills. She was a partner at Sentica Partners, a private equity firm, from 2012 to 2023, having held the role as investment director there since 2007. Prior to that, she worked as an account director at Finn-Medi, as a senior advisor at Replicon and as a project manager and consultant at Thermo Fisher Scientific. She has also worked as a researcher in Finland and the UK. Rytömaa holds a PhD in Biochemistry and an MBA.

Tero Saarno, Director of Investments and Projects at Taaleri Bioindustry, steps down from Taaleri’s Executive Management Team as of 19 May 2025. Saarno remains at Taaleri until 30 June 2025, after which he will continue as an advisor for Taaleri’s bioindustry fund and projects.
“I want to thank Tero for his significant contributions to the establishment of Taaleri’s bioindustry business and the development of new private equity funds. I strongly believe that our good cooperation will continue also as Tero transitions to a new role outside Taaleri,” Laurila continues.
