Volvo Car AB (publ): Volvo Cars strengthens Executive Management Team to support next phase of growth

2026-08-19 12:00:00

Volvo Cars today announces changes to its Executive Management Team, including the appointment of new members and revised responsibilities across key areas and regions.

The changes are designed to strengthen Volvo Cars' leadership team and organisation for an increasingly regionalised world, a fast-transforming automotive industry and new customer expectations in a highly competitive market.

Alexander Petrofski will join the Executive Management Team (EMT) as Chief Technology Officer, succeeding Anders Bell. Anders Bell will take on a new responsibility, leading a newly formed key strategic startup initiative within Volvo Cars, defining opportunities to scale Volvo Cars' developed platform and digital technology. Anders will report to the CEO.

"I would first like to thank Anders for his significant contributions over the past few years," said Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars. "Anders has played a pivotal part in advancing our technology and software to a frontrunner position, as seen by the successful EX60. We are now entering a new phase based on this strong technological foundation laid for our upcoming models. I am therefore pleased to welcome Alexander Petrofski to the EMT as our new Chief Technology Officer, leading us into this new phase."

Magnus Nilsson, currently Head of the Ghent plant in Belgium, will join the EMT as Volvo Cars' new Chief Manufacturing Officer, responsible for Production and Manufacturing Engineering. Francesca Gamboni will take on a more focused role as Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer.

"These changes strengthen our leadership team, reflecting the future priorities and swift execution needed for Volvo Cars' next phase," said Håkan Samuelsson.

The changes are effective from September 1.
