Optomed Achieves ISO 27001 Certification for Information Security Management Systems

Optomed, a global leader in AI-enabled handheld retinal screening technology, is proud to announce that it has achieved ISO 27001 certification, the internationally recognized standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

ISO 27001 is a globally accepted framework for managing sensitive company and customer information, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data through robust risk management practices and continuous improvement of information security. This milestone reflects Optomed's enduring commitment to information security and compliance with international best practices.

The certification process involved a comprehensive audit of Optomed's information security management system, covering policies, procedures, risk assessments, and controls aligned with the ISO 27001 standard. "From the start, our teams have been focused on designing and implementing an ISMS that consistently protects Optomed against risks such as data breaches, cyberattacks, and unauthorized access," said Markku Myllylä, VP Software at Optomed, who has been closely involved in the certification effort. "This achievement is a testament to our cross-functional collaboration and proactive risk management culture. It positions Optomed not only to meet stakeholder expectations today, but to adapt and improve continuously in the future."

With the ISO 27001 certification now in place, Optomed will maintain its information security posture through ongoing monitoring, regular reviews, and continuous improvement.
