The basis of Attendo's strategy is to offer better care at a lower cost and thereby contribute to the society in partnership with municipalities. In order to be able to deliver the high quality and satisfaction that Attendo wants to be associated with, long-term sustainable conditions are needed. Attendo therefore continuously reviews its agreements, and has decided to terminate two smaller agreements in Sweden, in Katrineholm and Nyköping, when the right conditions no longer exist.
"We regret that there are no longer long-term sustainable conditions for us to provide Home Care in Katrineholm and Nyköping. Over the past five years, the number of elderly people over 80 years of age in Sweden has increased by 20 percent, a trend that will continue at the same rate over the next five years. The large increase in care needs resulting from demographic developments needs to be met with a constructive dialogue about the conditions for care. The increasing needs cannot be met with savings and worsening conditions", says Stina Holmlund Kelly, Segment Manager for Home Care in Attendo Scandinavia.
In Katrineholm, approximately 30 employees and around 80 customers are affected, and in Nyköping, approximately 30 employees and 100 customers are affected. The terminated agreements have no material impact on Attendo's results.
