Prior to Praktiska Gymnasiet’s occupancy, Diös is converting vacant office space into modern educational premises in the property Södertull 33:1. The school will be located on the ground floor of the building with purpose-built facilities for the vocational programmes. The total investment in the property amounts to approximately SEK 30 million, with a yield-on-cost of nearly 8 percent.

This lease is a good example of how we revitalise our properties by filling vacant spaces with new content that creates long-term value for the tenant, the city and ourselves. Praktiska Gymnasiet Gävle welcomes around 170 students and 20 teachers each day. The school offers vocational programmes and works closely with the local business community and the labour market in Gävle. There is currently a waiting list for several of the programmes, and the school is now looking forward to being able to accommodate more students in the newly renovated premises, which will have capacity for around 250 students.

Our students are in high demand in industries facing skills shortages, such as electricity and energy, automotive and transport, as well as the hotel and tourism sector. It feels very positive that we now have the opportunity to make long-term investment in the school, the region's vocational students and the teachers' work environment," says Joakim Ekenberg, Head of School, Praktiska Gymnasiet.

Diös and AcadeMedia have signed a green lease agreement, meaning that the parties will jointly plan the premises with the ambition to reduce climate impact and energy use.
