– Forms jointly venture with Finnish partner
Byhmgard AB (publ) (“Byhmgard” or the “Company”) today announces that the Company is establishing operations in Finland through the registration of the jointly owned company Byhmgard Oy, in which Byhmgard will hold 90 per cent of the shares and the Finnish partner Several Oy will hold 10 per cent of the shares. The establishment represents a strategic step to further strengthen Byhmgard’s presence on the Finnish market and to build on the Company’s successful collaboration with Solarigo, as well as the growing portfolio of locally developed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
Finland represents one of the most attractive markets in the Nordic region for large-scale energy storage, driven by increasing demand for grid stability, flexibility services and efficient integration of renewable power generation. Through the establishment of Byhmgard Oy, the Company creates conditions for closer market engagement, faster decision-making and more efficient project execution at the local level.
As part of the establishment, Byhmgard has entered into a partnership with Several Oy, a Finnish company with long-standing and extensive experience in working with leading energy companies such as Fortum and Helen. Several Oy contributes an experienced local team, deep market knowledge and established relationships, enabling efficient local implementation of Byhmgard’s strategies and project plans.
Byhmgard, in turn, brings extensive market experience from the Nordic and European markets, advanced technical expertise in large-scale BESS solutions, as well as proprietary methods for system design and software-based optimisation. The Company’s solutions are designed to maximise returns through optimisation across multiple revenue streams, while minimising capital and operating costs through efficient system architecture, professional procurement and data-driven operations.
The clear ownership structure, under which Byhmgard holds a 90 per cent majority stake, ensures that the Company retains strategic control over its Finnish operations, while Several Oy’s 10 per cent minority ownership creates strong incentives for local presence, commitment and long-term value creation.
The combination of Byhmgard’s technical and commercial expertise and Several Oy’s local presence and execution capabilities creates a strong platform for scaling the Company’s operations in Finland. The establishment of Byhmgard Oy is therefore expected to strengthen the Company’s long-term competitiveness and contribute positively to shareholder value.
“Finland is a strategically important market for Byhmgard. By establishing a local company in which we retain majority ownership, while at the same time partnering with an experienced company such as Several Oy, we create very strong conditions to accelerate our growth, deliver high-quality BESS projects and further strengthen our position as a leading energy storage player in the Nordic region,” says Christian Byhmer, CEO of Byhmgard AB.
