Honkarakenne Plc., Kyiv Regional Military Administration and Borodyanka Village Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Strategic Cooperation at the Rebuild Ukraine 2025 Forum
On November 13, 2025, within the framework of the Rebuild Ukraine Forum in Warsaw, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the Borodyanka Village Council, and the Finnish company Honkarakenne Plc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Strategic Cooperation.

The document establishes a framework for a long-term partnership aimed at the comprehensive reconstruction and modernization of social and educational infrastructure in the Kyiv region, with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, and innovative technologies.
The first pilot project under the Memorandum will be the reconstruction of the Borodyanka Gymnasium No. 1 with a boarding school, using modern wood construction and energy-efficient solutions developed by Honkarakenne Plc.
The partnership is designed to combine the administrative capacity of the Kyiv region and the Borodyanka community with Finnish expertise in sustainable wooden architecture. It also aims to serve as a model for future reconstruction projects in other war-affected communities of Ukraine.
The Memorandum represents a practical step towards modern, eco-friendly reconstruction of our communities.
“Honkarakenne Plc. is honoured to contribute its decades of experience in wooden construction to Ukraine’s rebuilding process. We believe this cooperation will create lasting value and joy for local communities,” commented Marko Saarelainen, CEO of Honkarakenne Plc.

The Memorandum will remain in effect for seven years and may be extended by mutual agreement of the Parties.
